The Camino is visualized through the yellow arrows, shell icons and signs that mark the way to go. I have often thought for a pathway that has been used for over 1000 year, you would have thought it would be pretty streamlined – it is not. That is part of the challenge or charm.
You have to careful to watch out for the next symbol, particularly in towns and major intersections otherwise you can become lost or take a time intensive detour – as my South African friends found.
Yellow arrows can also be used as devices to steer you to an albergue or bar so you have to be aware of your surroundings and where you want to go.
Being with others can help as more than one set of eyes can see the way ahead.
Like life really.
